Update: 10/13/24: The mule’s packs are empty for now. Mike and the mule team saw considerable progress on roads and accessibility this past few days; which means ATV’s and other motorized vehicles can more efficiently transport goods to the places that were inaccessible before. The mules are on standby, and we will be in communication with many, ready for the call that there is a need for the mules to go back in. In the meantime, as we said before, we are in this for the long haul. We will continue coordinating donations and purchasing supplies to bring in to communities that will have SO much need for a long time! The weather is changing, which will create many challenges for families, clean-up and rebuilding will be continual for quite some time. We will be posting the needs that are communicated to us, so you can continue to help support us helping in the ways that we can, and filling the gaps that we see. We will be going back up Thursday with a huge load of fencing supplies, food and household needs. We are getting many requests for dehumidifiers, box fans, towels, and bleach. Thank you to ALL that have been in constant support of this mission, your prayers and love have been felt deeply!! God bless!!
Amanda took some amazing photos the past couple days in the Bat Cave area…I’ll share some of the mules tonight and some more tomorrow! It’s been a long day!!! God bless you all, and thank you to all that are helping support us in this mission with our mules!
Wow!!! Thank you so much to everyone that came out today!!! So many people that have to be thanked!!! Thanks to Lazy 5 Ranch for storing a huge load for us while we worked out our facility situation! We appreciate Jonathan Holland for helping organize things, Heather from U-Haul Statesville for working with us on trucks and storage and being so kind to help us with all we need! Mark Waggoner and Jim Hunter from Waggoner Manufacturing, helping haul a big load of donations over for us and working all day helping get it all loaded just right!! And, so many wonderful people that gave and gave of themselves! We had a family that came from Missouri with a full trailer-load collected from 6 different communities, and a sweet couple from Ohio with a full horse trailer load! So many special and thoughtful things donated to go along with purchased chainsaws, fencing equipment and so much more!!! What a blessing it is to watch strangers become friends over a like cause!
Thank you Daniel from Tractor Supply Co. Mooresville for getting us a great load of fencing supplies to get up the mountain tomorrow!! We have more fencing supplies ordered, and will get a BIG load of fencing supplies and tools up next week! We appreciate Tractor Supply generously partnering with Mountain Mule Packers to get the people of WNC what they need to contain their livestock! God bless!
