Cofounder Aaron Fisher and his wife, Barbie, and daughter Rebecca, spent some time in NC last week helping with disaster relief. Here is an excerpt of Barbie’s experience: “I am not sure how anyone can wrap their brain around the devastation. It’s hard to grasp what happens when every creek, every gully, every slope becomes a path for rushing water. Rushing water that picks up everything in its path and carves chasms as it moves. Gaining momentum and fury with every inch. Leaving landscapes totally changed, and utter chaos wherever it went. Huge areas of waste with mud and patches of standing water littered with debris. … The entire town is crippled. Schools are closed. … They thanked us over and over. They were delighted that we gave them hot food. That we gave them vegetables and rice. They called us angels and told us we had the best restaurant in town. They marveled that we traveled 9 hours to love on them.” –Barbie Fisher
